September 2008 Recap

We had another great Refresh Columbia meetup tonight at The State Newspaper.  To kick things off, Chris Harrison came up all the way from Augusta, GA to tell us about the new features coming up in Adobe Creative Suite 4.  Chris showed a quick video and then demoed some of the cool new features which he got to check out early as an Adobe Influencer.

After that, I gave a preview of the presentation that I’ll be giving next week at the Webmaster Jam Session in Atlanta, GA.  There are 6 people from Refresh Columbia going up for the 2 day conference and as noted before, the organizers have offered our group a big discount.  If you’re interested in going, please use the coupon code REFRESHCOLUMBIA and let us know via the contact form if you’d like to carpool.

We had 11 people show up tonight which is a bit of a drop from the 18 and 21 that we had in July and August respectively.  For the visual people out there, I made this beautiful, napkin-quality infographic to illustrate these numbers.

If you haven’t made it out to a Refresh event yet, go ahead and put the next one on your calendar.  It’s going to be October 29th at 6pm.  We may change up the location by then but we’ll post the details here and send a notice out to the email list (which you can sign up for over there on the right) as soon as everything is confirmed.  Seeya then!
