September 2008 Meetup
Wednesday! Wednesday! Wednesday!
No, it’s not a monster truck rally, I just figured repetition would be the best rhetorical device to help you remember that we are permanently moving Refresh to The Last Wednesday of Each Month. So that means this months showdown meetup will be on Wednesday, September 24th.
The theme for this month is previews and here’s why:
- Design Disrepair – First off, Jason Beaird will be giving us a preview of his upcoming presentation for the Webmaster Jam Session on October 3rd. Jason is the president of Refresh Columbia, a designer at Cyberwoven, and the author of “The Principles of Beautiful Web Design”. In case you haven’t heard yet, the organizers of the Jam Session have given us a discount code that saves quite a bit on the registration cost, so use “REFRESHCOLUMBIA” when you register and be there to cheer Jason on.
- Adobe CS4 Preview – Then, Chris Harrison (who brought the Adobe schwag last month) will be back to give us the a sneak peek of what’s new in Adobe Creative Suite 4. Chris is the Senior designer at PowerServe in Augusta GA, an Adobe Influencer, and loves playing with pixels and code.
As usual, we’ll be headed to the Carolina Ale House in the Vista after the meetup for dinner and a few drinks.

PS: For the October meetup we plan to give lighting talks a try. Rather than having 2 speakers we’ll have 6 and each speaker will get 5-10 minutes to talk to the group about whatever they like. So start thinking now about what you’re going to talk about!
