October 2008 Meetup
Join us for the special Halloween addition of our regular monthly meetup which is appropriately titled: The Bleeding Edge of the Web. This month we’ll have a new format, a new location, and a new promo poster.
New Format: Lightning Talks
Usually, we have 2 speakers give 30 minute presentations. This month we’re going to give lightning talks a try. We’ll have 6 speakers talk for 10 minutes or less. Some will have slides, some will not, but each will provide insight into how they are staying current with and inspired by today’s web in 10 minutes or less.
New Location: McMaster College – #314
The McMaster College at the University of South Carolina is home to the Media Arts program. We think it’s a very appropriate meeting place for a community that aims to bring together those who work (and aspire to work) in the web industry. Many thanks to the Media Arts department for hosting our meetup this month.
New Promo Poster
There’s only a week and a half left until the October meetup, so we need your help spreading the word. Be sure to tell your friends and hang the promo poster up wherever you think web workers might congregate – coffee shops, water coolers, wifi hotspots. Let’s make this the biggest Refresh meetup yet.

As usual, we’ll be going out for dinner & drinks after the meetup. This month, we’ll be headed to Hunter Gatherer (map), home of delicious burgers and excellent micro-brews.
